ZA-Z update, 24 October 2026: the Knox County Court opens, flashlights on the belt, three KI5 cars

A ZA-Z's Essentials update and three new KI5 cars went live at the midnight restart of 24 October 2026. It is a big download: close Steam completely and open it again before you join, so it fetches the new mods, then give the first load a few minutes. The Knox County Court is open and Rosewood prison takes its first convicts, a flashlight hangs lit on your belt, and the '70 Dodge Challenger, the '82 Porsche 911 and the '91 Range Rover Classic start turning up on fresh ground.

#The Knox County Court is open

Burning a town, darkening a substation, driving off in a car someone holds the key to, shooting another survivor's cattle, running a survivor down, walling off a road: the county has a court for it now. PvP, looting and taking what lies about stay legal. File a charge on the ZA-Z Discord in #the-judge; The Recorder, the county's judge, reads only the server's own records and rules on each count; then the county votes for 24 hours on wanted alive, wanted dead or no warrant. A convict wanted alive can be arrested by anyone with rope or duct tape and wakes up in a cell in Rosewood prison, in an orange jumpsuit, his gear in the evidence locker until his time is served. #Rosewood prison is a death zone

Inside the grounds of Rosewood prison, west of Rosewood town, PvP is forced for everyone, the same as inside the Louisville wall. Climb into the yard and PRISON: PvP forced shows over your head, the safety button turns into a red skull and the safety key does nothing until you leave. Faction mates still cannot shoot each other. #Flashlights on the belt

Hang a flashlight, a big flashlight, a pen light or a crafted flashlight on a belt or webbing slot, the same spots a walkie-talkie takes, and leave it switched on. It lights the way ahead, drains its battery as it would in your hand, and other players see the light too. Draw it with its hotbar key and put it back, and it stays on. See flashlights on the belt.

#Three new KI5 cars

  • '70 Dodge Challenger: KI5's muscle car in five versions, from the everyday R/T to a black-and-white Police car with a siren. Its Auto Manual now turns up in loot as it should. See '70 Dodge Challenger.
  • '82 Porsche 911: a light two-seater in four versions (Turbo, RWB, SC and SC Targa) that carries 72 between its trunk, rear seats and glove box. See '82 Porsche 911.
  • '91 Range Rover Classic: a boxy 4x4 in a 4-door and a 2-door, with a 75-unit trunk and room for 65 more on a roof rack. See '91 Range Rover Classic.

Like every modded car, they only spawn on ground that loads for the first time from today, so the parts of the map nobody has visited yet are where to look. Every car on the server is on Vehicles and driving.
