ZA-Z's PvP danger zones: Route 31W and the roads where PvP is forced
Parts of the map on ZA-Z are PvP danger zones. Inside one, every survivor's PvP safety is switched off, the same as in Louisville: anyone you meet can shoot you, and you can shoot them. The first danger zone is Route 31W, the highway from Muldraugh through to Valley Station, and more stretches will follow. You always get a warning before you drive or walk in.
#Where are the danger zones?
| Zone | Where | Width |
|---|---|---|
| Route 31W, Muldraugh to West Point | The highway from the north edge of Muldraugh to the south edge of West Point | About 100 tiles, the road and both verges |
| Route 31W, West Point to Valley Station | The highway north of West Point, across the bridge to Valley Station | About 100 tiles |
Both have been live since 24 October 2026. The towns themselves are not part of it: Muldraugh and West Point stay as they are, and a danger zone always stops well short of where new survivors spawn. Louisville and the Rosewood prison grounds are death zones, where PvP is forced all the time.
The zones are drawn on the live map: red for live, amber dashed for a zone that is coming.
#How am I warned?
- A banner and a line over your head about 200 tiles before the edge, on foot or in a car: "PvP DANGER ZONE AHEAD", the road's name and how far it is. You have time to turn round.
- Warning signs at the road entrances: wooden boards with a painted skull, a red WARNING sign and traffic cones on the verge where the zone starts.
- Notice for new zones. Before a new zone goes live you get the same banner in amber, telling you the day it starts, and until then PvP works there as anywhere else.
- Inside a live zone a red line reminds you every couple of minutes: "You are in a PvP danger zone".
#What changes inside?
Your safety toggle switches off the moment you cross the edge and stays locked until you leave, the same as in Louisville. A car is no shelter: you can be shot through the windows while you drive. When you leave, your safety comes back on by itself after the usual countdown.
#What still protects me?
- Your own safehouse. If your safehouse claim lies inside a danger zone, you and your members are safe while you stand inside your own claim. Claims made before the road became a danger zone stay.
- No new claims. While a zone is live you cannot claim a new safehouse inside it: the claim is released again straight away.
- Your faction. Members of the same faction still cannot shoot each other.
#Is killing someone in a danger zone a crime?
No. The Knox County Court treats a kill inside a live danger zone as lawful: everyone was warned before they went in. Everything else is still a crime there: stealing a car, burning someone's base, killing their livestock, blocking the road. During a zone's warning week it is not live yet, so a kill there is judged like anywhere else.
