KY-60: the highway leaderboard, timed Runs and roadkill
KY-60 is the long highway across Knox Country, from the east edge of the map past Rosewood all the way to Brandenburg, and ZA-Z keeps score on it. The server checks every survivor on the road once an in-game minute and records time on the road, distance, top speed, zombies run over, animals hit and deaths, plus a timed Run down the straight west of Rosewood. The standings live on the KY-60 leaderboard, which has tracked the road since 9 September 2026.
#Where does KY-60 run?
The tracked road is about 17.8 km long, drawn for ZA-Z from the game's own road map:
- From the east edge of the map, west along the north side of Rosewood.
- Down the long straight west of Rosewood to the bend.
- North, then west, turning north again just east of Echo Creek.
- North for about 4.6 km, west into Brandenburg, and up the main street to the river.
A 4-tile margin either side counts as the road, so a verge or a ditch is still KY-60. The map behind the board shows the route in red.
#What does the KY-60 board record?
Everyone on the corridor is tracked: drivers, passengers and people on foot. One in-game minute is 7.5 real seconds, so that is how often you are sampled. A jump of more than 80 tiles a second (a teleport) or a gap of more than 30 seconds (a frozen clock, a logout) adds nothing.
| Column | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Best run | Your fastest timed Run (below) |
| Runs | Timed Runs finished |
| Top speed | Fastest reading anywhere on KY-60, in the game's own km/h |
| On road | Real time spent on KY-60 |
| Distance | Ground covered along the road, 1 tile = 1 m |
| Run over | Zombies you killed on KY-60 from behind the wheel |
| Roadkill | Animals run over on KY-60 |
| Deaths | Deaths on KY-60 |
The strip across the top adds everyone together: survivors on the road, time driven, distance, run over, roadkill, deaths and the fastest reading. Click any column heading to sort by it; the default is distance.
#How does the timed Run work?
The Run is a time trial down the straight west of Rosewood, between two invisible gates: one at the first Rosewood houses and one at the bend, 2,340 m apart. Drive it in either direction.
- The clock starts and stops the moment you cross each gate, worked out between samples, so a flying start is fine and encouraged.
- You must be the driver, in the same vehicle, the whole way.
- A Run is voided if you leave the straight, turn back, die, get teleported, stop being sampled for 30 seconds, take longer than 20 minutes, or post a reading over 260 km/h. Anything under 25 seconds is thrown out as impossible.
- At the 122.4 km/h wall the Run cannot be done much under 1:09. Anyone near that has a perfect line and a car that holds top speed through the whole straight.
#How are zombies run over counted?
The game never tells the server when you kill a zombie with a car: only the driver's own game counts that kill. So the KY-60 tracker watches every zombie die inside the corridor, checks who hit it, and credits that survivor if they sat in a vehicle at the time. Animals killed the same way go under Roadkill, with a breakdown by animal when you hover the number. Zombies killed on foot on the road do not count as run over, and an animal shot on the verge is hunting, not roadkill.
#Why do the top speeds stop at 122?
Every vehicle in Project Zomboid is held to 122.4 km/h by the game itself, and ZA-Z's speed limit of 150 lets cars reach it at true speed. Readings pile up between 120 and 122 for that reason. See how fast cars really go for the detail. A press badge marks a top speed printed by Rebel News rather than read by the tracker; a real reading above it takes its place.
#Where do I see my KY-60 results?
Open the KY-60 tab on the leaderboard. It refreshes about every 10 minutes. Like every board on the site, it shows your name only if you switched it on: otherwise you are "Survivor #" and your rank. Sign in at zazomboid.com/me and turn on Show my name on the leaderboard under Settings. More on that on the The ZA-Z website page.
